Hello friends. It’s been a bit of a rough day. As you know, I’m packing up things, getting ready for my move back up to the Northeast. I’m in South Florida right now, and I must say, a part of me is sad I’m leaving.

A Movie I’d Take to Mars
If I was going to blast off to Mars on a rocket ship, and they told me I could only take one movie with me, the original Planet of the Apes would be the one I’d choose. I love this movie.
Why This Movie is Special
In 1968, I was five years old. Yes, I’m that old so no jokes please. Anyhow, I must have been a few years older when I saw this film–probably seven or so. Nevertheless, this is the movie that started it all for me. It captured my imagination and made me an instant fan of the science fiction genre, so it makes sense that this is my first review ever.

Hello friends. Like I’ve said before, this is my author’s site. Here, I will be posting info about the books I’m working on, the release dates, and other interesting bits of information for my readers. But I want it to be more than that. I’d like this site to be something fun and useful for you, and something fun for me to write.
Best Way to Keep it Going
I’ve worked on other blogs, and I can tell you, these things are interesting to get up and running, but they quickly become tiresome. Soon the posts start coming less and less frequently, and eventually the blog withers and dies. That is not going to happen with this one. Why? Because I’m going to make it fun for all concerned, including me.

As most of you know, the book I’m working on now is called Sailing the Sunless Sea. It is the first book in the Hidden Worlds series. The books in this series are all standalone, somewhat reminiscent of Twilight Zone or Outer Limits episodes.
Release Date
I’m sorry to say that I don’t have a firm release date as of yet. If I had to make an educated guess, I’d probably say Sunless Sea will most likely be out by mid- to late-summer 2025.
Why so long? Those of you that know the way I write know I release books once every two months. That’s how fast I was releasing them when I was writing under another pen name. See the About Page for more on me, and the Art Benson’s Books Page for info on Sunless Sea.
Why Longer than Usual?
As we all know, life always seems to happen even when we’re not ready for it. You see, I’m planning a huge move—about 1,200 miles to be exact. (Details to come.) Anyway, a lot of logistical planning goes into a move of that magnitude.
Continue readingWhenever someone creates a new blog or site, or even signs up on a popular social media app, the first thing they usually do is put out a “Hello World” post. This is probably more of a test than anything else, but many people take it a step further and introduce themselves.
I’d like to do that but it would be redundant. All you have to do to know a bit about me and this new site is go to the About page and read the short couple of paragraphs there. Instead of introducing myself here on this post, I think I’d like to kick off this site by thanking you.
Thank you dear reader, for visiting my site. I will try my very best to entertain you, keep you up to date as to what’s happening in the world of speculative fiction, and give you release dates on my books. Welcome, and I hope to see you here again.
Please don’t hesitate to let me know how well I’m doing, and what you would like to see more of. You can do so by sending me a message on the Contact page.
