As most of you know, the book I’m working on now is called Sailing the Sunless Sea. It is the first book in the Hidden Worlds series. The books in this series are all standalone, somewhat reminiscent of Twilight Zone or Outer Limits episodes.

Release Date

I’m sorry to say that I don’t have a firm release date as of yet. If I had to make an educated guess, I’d probably say Sunless Sea will most likely be out by mid- to late-summer 2025.

Why so long? Those of you that know the way I write know I release books once every two months. That’s how fast I was releasing them when I was writing under another pen name. See the About Page for more on me, and the Art Benson’s Books Page for info on Sunless Sea.

Why Longer than Usual?

As we all know, life always seems to happen even when we’re not ready for it. You see, I’m planning a huge move—about 1,200 miles to be exact. (Details to come.) Anyway, a lot of logistical planning goes into a move of that magnitude.

I have to sell the condo, pack my stuff, throw out the stuff I’m not going to take. Then when I get there, I have to find a place to live and do all the little things that add up to one giant headache. Things like get new license plates for my car, change my address on all my accounts, etc.

So as you can see, writing my book might take a backseat to all the other things that require my immediate attention, but fear not. I’ve already plotted Sunless Sea and I’ve even written a couple of chapters. I will still be working on it in a limited fashion, but it will take much longer than the two months it usually takes me to release a book.

What Happens After I Publish

After I release Sunless Sea and everything in my life has settled down, I will go back to my writing schedule, prolifically cranking out book after book like I used to. Don’t worry, I write fast without a reduction in quality.

Like I’ve said before, I’ve successfully written 13 books in another genre, under another pen name. Not to brag, but I once released three books in less than five months, and those were my three most successful books ever. As a matter of fact, they are still my top money makers.

So please have a bit of patients with me friends. These are going to be a couple of rough months I have ahead of me. It won’t be too long before I’ll be churning out books like before.
